Sand Substrate?

Hi everyone! I was wondering if it is safe to use Nature's Ocean White Marine Sand in my freshwater aquarium? I am in the process of transferring my cories into an aquarium with a sand substrate, and I need to know if this sand is ok to use? It's kind of like beach sand. It's not live reef sand (I'm not sure if that's what it's called), but is does say "Marine Sand" on the package. Thanks!

If you have fish that like hard water, you will probably be okay.

If the fish are softwater fish, I wouldn't do it. The marine sand will likely leach calcium and other salts into the water and increase the water's hardness.

I'm no expert though, so someone else may be able to give better info.
