Well today im chcaning my tank to a diffrent substrate Im going to buy my substrate in the gardening center across my street. They sell Pea Gravel and Sand. I dont which one to choose. I mean first of all let me tell u the bottom feeders that are gonna be at the bottom. Im gonna have Corys a Varity of plecos and some loaches. I know they all prefer sand but Im gonna mek the tank planted so the sand isnt gonna hold the plants in the ground. So know im leaning to pea gravel its nice and cheap So I might get that. But im still undecided.

What do u all think?

sand, the fish will love it!

my plants stay in sand so why cant yours?

If the gravel is like 1/8 " , I'd use it , if it's larger like 1/4 " , I might use sand .

Larger sized gravel can allow fish waists and uneaten food to become trapped in voids between the gravel it self and waists can go down lower and out of sight .
This is not a big prob , as long as a good tank maintenance schedule is followed .

I have kept mostly natural gravel in my tanks , lighter and darker colors , 1/8" and 1/4" sizes .
Over time it has all been mixed together  , and my plants grow pretty good in it .

Never have had sand though .

My votes for sand too, you'll never have a cleaner tank then with sand, and as dwarf dude said, the fish that interact with the substrate do love it.

My planted tank is sand. I used washed beach sand, about 4 bucks for 40 lbs.
