I cant find much of a how-to for sand. right now i have gravel. can somebody point me in the right direction? I here that catfish love sand. Also, maybe outling some pros and cons for sand? I think it looks better myself.

EDIT: of course right after i post this i look 3 threads down and see some sand info. lol.

I was actually going to ask a very similar question, Im setting up a new aquarium (for my blue lobster) and have bought play sand from my local garden center (hence my other post Ive just put on about the sandstone rocks...).

Im sure i heard of a problem with sand (now I might well have read this wrong so it might asound daft) that I think it was pockets of air getting trapped and something to do with ammonia.

(I know this doesnt answer your question and Im not trying to steal you post....just seemed daft putting mine on now)

thats fine. at least im not the only one wondering. in the tank pics discussion there are some beautiful tanks that all have sand. just looks awesome. so anyone, pointers pls.

Disregard this post. I guess i didnt look hard enough before i posted. Wolf has a great stick on this very subject.
