Salutations,

I've been reading the forum for quite a while now, and would just like to say that if I can learn half as much as you guys, then I'll be doing just fine :good:

I had an aquarium a few years back, but it was filled with goldfish, but after they all died, I gave up and consentrated on my other hobbies (model railways).

However, having seen the old tank in the loft where the model railway is made me think about how much pleasure I got from caring for fish and how I used to reap the rewards if done properly. I've decided to start with 'easy' tropical fish (Zebra Danios, Neon Tetras and ghost shrimp + others (open for suggestion :) ))

well, thanks for taking the time for reading my post, hope I see you around the boards

keep us posted and pics would be good lol oh and welcome to tff mate

Cheers for the warm welcome guys, I can see I'll be staying here for some time.

As for pictures, the reason why I didn't put any up before was because I was going to start a new topic in the "new to the hobby" becuase of the cloudy water, plus I'm still doing a fishless cycle, so there isn't much to see!

but you've been so kind, I'll show you a couple now :)

I just Couldn't resist the sunken Beetle

and the tank which is 68.08 litres, which is approximately 17.5 U.S. gallons

Thanks again

Are you cycling your tank? also Neon Tetras arnt really easy fish to keep. They need a mature tank 6+ months to thrive.

( Just read your fishless cycling, thats good to hear )

I reckon you should do a 'journal' thread which will track your progress. Lots of people enjoy reading those, especially when you are starting from scratch. Have a look at some of the other journals to see what I mean......

forgot to add...it's also a great way to get your questions answered as it should track your tank 'history' from day 1!
