Salt

I only use salt in my tank when if notice a sick fish, but is there a list out there of fish that don't tolerate salt? I'm concerned about my Oto cats, Yo Yo loaches and Red tailed black shark. I have a Tiger Barb with some kind of fungus or fin rot that I'd like to treat with salt.

dude use melafix and fungus cure from big als since u live toronto. Salt is good big not all fish like them. Melafix cure finrot very well and fungus cure fix fungus in like 3-4 days .

Dude! I've tried Melafix before with no luck. Salt usually does the trick if it's not too far gone, but I need to know if my fish can tolerate it.

Try the Catfish forum maybe? I've heard with loaches, NO salt, but I could be mistaken. Also with the fungus meds, check to make sure they are safe for the Otos and loaches, as theyare more sensitive to these meds.

Not a good idea to use salt with loaches or catfish.You will do more harm than good.HTH.
