Salt

A few articles I read mentioned that a small quantity of salt is good for Bettas, one had mentioned that one tbs of salt would be good for a 10 gal tank. I have one Betta in a 10 gal tank with live Java Moss, Java Fern and another live fresh water plant, my temp is a steady 80F.

Is anyone familiar with marine salt and Bettas?

Not marine salt. Get aquarium salt intended for tropical fish. It comes in boxes here.

I always put aquarium salt in with my bettas. With every water change. They are happier with it. And if they have any fin damage it helps to heal it and keep it from getting finrot.
