Corys and guppies are a nice combination, but you will need to get more than just one.

Corys are schooling fish and really do need to have companions. Get at least two or three corys. They will be much less timid and easily frightened as a group than if you get only one. And, they will be much more playfull. :p

But they cannot have salt. If your guppies are ill and need salt as a treatment you should wait until they are better before adding any new fish. If they are not ill, they should not have salt in the water.

To remove the salt, gradually change the water over a couple of weeks time, depending on the size of your tank. When you clean your tank, siphon the dirt up from the bottom to make sure it is clean for the corys and just replace it with fresh unsalted water. Only then will it be time to add corys.
