Thats kinda self explanatory. Should i be putting sea salt with my guppies?

I would say there isn't a "should" rather a "could" as most people even don't know that they could live in brackish water.

There have been Guppies even been kept in marine tanks. After people have discovered after months a forgotten feeder fish Guppy they left him in there.

Mollies are known to live in freshwater as well as in full strength marine water and there is a debate which salinity should be the best for them.

But I never followed these discussions and for Guppies there are presumably far less reports and discussions as almost all people seem to keep them in freshwater simply.

For myself I am keeping Platys in low-range brackish water simply for the fact that all possible microbes that enter the tank are freshwater bourne.
Presumably most microbes from freshwater can exist in brackish water, too, but who knows.

The only important thing to know is that all fish that travel between different salinities can adapt themselves in minutes but the nitrifying bacteria cannot.

So, if you change the salinity in a tank that should always been done slowly and with partial water changes (10% or 20%) over weeks only. That is very important.

If you got a special question about that you can look up the brackish section of this forum and asjk there, too.
