Hi. I have a 10 gal nano SW running for a year and half now. All's great with a Yellow Tail blue Damsel and 2 percula clowns.

Also have several crabs and snails and a peppermint shrimp along with some corals and about 15 lbs of LR.

my question is, my nitrate level is between 5.0 and 10. Everything else tested perfect (as I do testing every other day). How do I reduce my nitrate? for two days, I've been using kordon's AmQuel+ Plus. it says it removes Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia, chloramines and chlorine.

it went from a 10 and now somewhere between 5 and 10. How do I reduce it more? I did a water change a few days ago.

Also, given what I have in my tank now, is it wise to get a blenny? a small one?

more fish means more nutrients... i.e. nitrates.

Your nitrates seem aceptable, why are you so desperate to reduce them further?
I would also say that you are at your limit with stocking levels of fish for a tank of this size.

I want to keep the nitrates low as possible. they've been at 0 for a long time and when I saw it rise, I dont want them to go up anymore.

and I thought it'd be too stocked with fish, which is why I though I'd check first. I do want another shrimp though. so amusing they are

Agree with Navarre...my 24 runs between 5-10 ppm and I have no problems. I have gotten as high as 15-20 when I added my sun corals (overfeeding). THEN, I went into 'water change' mode. 0 nitrates is a trophy that doesnt' exist in a tank with fish, IMO, in a nano. 5-10 should be OK. SH
