thanks for the correct info on the cories guys. someone told me that i couldn't treat my tank with salt because of my pleco and cories. now i can. i need to treat them for paracites. i think more specifically gill flukes or just any in general. if i am not mistaken (correct me if i understand this wrong)

i can add 1 teaspoon of non-iodized salt (to treat 10 gal of water) but first i have to put it in like a cup of water and dilute it completely. then i would raise my tank temp up like a couple of degrees or so to like to 82-84F and put in an airstone (if possible). only let the salt be in the water for a few days tops and change the water.

is this right? i know i was against the salt treatment in my previous posts (due to lack of good info at that time), but i am desperate to get rid of the gill flukes that have been haunting my tank. i think that other external parasites might be at work so i want ot treat them before it gets out of control. i can't really afford to go out and get paracite meds and most of the ones that i come across say ick and other paracites and doesn't list the other ones. my lfs doen't sell coppersafe otherwise i would use that. (i think it was coppersafe that i was told orks well on paracites). i am going to a friends house and will check lfs around there for coppersafe (if that is it?)

i hope i get quick responses to the questions before a lot of my fish get sick. i had one die from what appeared to be internal paracites. would salt kill any internal paracites?

thanks for the help!

I've read using salt is useless with gill flukes, plus they can cause alot of damage to the fish, and also are hard to get rid off.
There suckers that perce the skin has nasty bacteria on them which goes into the fish bloodstream causing bacterial infections on top.
