it will be touch and go mate. might go a little ropey at first, but if you can get it nearer the surface obviously the light is stronger.
what size is your tank?

have you considered a carbon source like easycarbo?

hi, my tank is 120cm x 40cm x 45cm
(length) x(width) x (height)

i had considered liquid carbon, but was a bit put off by the price. i can't seem to find a very cheap one, and my parents won't let me have pressurised, as they think it's dangerous. :( and is fermentation useless in a 4ft tank? i have been thinking about trying to convince them to let me buy a proper pressurised system, as they said that the fire extinguisher method is a big no no. but then there's still the price of the proper pressurised systems. are there any good ones that are cheap?

cheers :good:

liquid carbon isnt much good in a 4ft tank. DIY yeast co2 would be hopeless. pressurisec co2 would be the only way to go. commercial kits are fine but often they come with 500g or at the most 1kg co2 cylinders that will run out so fast on your 4ft
i set my fire extinguisher system up when i was 16/17 and i didnt blow my face off. to me, it seems very safe and is a good way to go. but if your parents say no, you have to respect that as its their house!

thanks, so if pressurised is the only way, are there any decent pressurised systems that aren't too costly? they seem really against the fire extinguisher method.

sorry for getting off topic.

cheers :good:

well not really. for a something to run a 4ft your looking at near on £200.
some people buy tiny sets for 100L tanks and then starin them really hard to get the co2 pumping out. often the regs and soleniods cant take it and break under the pressure. they then wonder why this has happened!

buy cheap you buy twice.

thanks, i'll have to discuss it with my parents then. about how much did your fire extinguisher one cost? and are they quite safe? i'll try to get my parents to let me make one.

cheers

last bump because these plants either sell or i re use them.

clearly the planted section on here is dead....

any ideas for jazzing it up... oh i forgot im just talking to myself

hi nick would this grow under a 9w light in a 10 litre 25cm tall tank with easy carbo and tpn+ daily ???

bae

should do mate, but these are large stems, ie the leaves branch out quite alot. The stems can also get nice and thick. for a small nano you should be looking more towards rotala rotundefolia.

but if your interested, you can give them a go. Good light, co2, ferts they should remain lush. mine took on a nice orange/pink tinge in my hi tech 4x2x2

ahh ill probably leave it then as dont want to have something to big thanks tho

hello hows it going. i just joined this site and iv been looking for this plant for a while, and im wondering if you still have some for sale. if so i live in belfast would it be possible to send them here.thanks.
