I recently bought a female sajica to make a pair then read that you should have a number of them and then remove the 2 that pair off naturally. My 2 seem to get on well but should I add more females?

Also, just read an interesting article on the net which says that the sajica can be found in lake malawi as well as central america. Don't know if it is the same species but the photo looked the same.

If they're getting along you can leave it - you may get lucky and have them hook up. Just keep an eye on them. If you notice one being overly aggressive, you'll know to add more females.

They are not found in lake Malawi. Do you have the link to artical by chance?

Not sure how to transfer links but it was "species.fishindex.com/8" and it's known as "archocentrus sajica" very similar.

A ha ha, there's a website not to go to for information.

Why's that freddyk? Is it a rubbish site? Always on the lookout for good sites, I like the 'cichlid association' which always seems spot-on.

when they say to have a number of them, usually what they mean is to buy 5-6 young fish, and let them pair off 'naturally' (on their own) as they grow up.. often if you just put a male and female together they will not mate, but sometimes it happens.

Yeah, watch out for sites that try to get hits based on the diversity of information instead of the quality of it. The broader the range of subjects covered, the more diluted it tends to be. Not a rule, but certainly a fair generalization.
