Sailfin Plec Eating Gravel Stones

we have a sailfin about ten intches and this past while has been eating gravel .
any thoughts on why would be gratefull. thanks

Probably just eating the small bits of food in the gravel.

He doesnt eat the gravel he might be cleaning them.
