ok, so some of the plants i ordered on ebay have now arrived and i've put them in a bucket with a filter packed with carbon and with tap water full of dechlorinator. how long do i need to leave them in the bucket to be 100% sure that they are safe for putting into a tank of inverts?

also, do i need to put a heater in the bucket? it contains cabomba at the moment and will soon contain java moss too. do either of these plants need a heater?

No heater will be needed. I'd leave them for 24 hours, then rinse them again under the tap.

I would also put carbon in the invert tanks filter for 24 hours.

Not that there really should be any copper left, but I soaked my plants for 24 hours and rinsed them twice and still killed some shrimp with copper somehow.

Putting carbon in the shrimp tanks filter fixed everything though.
