Im looking all over to get as many decorations for my tank as possible, meanwhile my dad's remaking the basement, putting in more rooms, a new kitchen ect...
Anyways, since there's a bunch of stuff he doesn't need I found some cement pieces that look like some nice rocks. If I washed them really well could I put them in the tank?
Sorry if this is a stupid question

Definitly not. Loads of lime in cement which is very bad for aquariums. Stick with rocks from your LFS to be on the safe side or if you want something a bit bigger then check out your local garden centre. They often sell rocks for rockeries. Be careful though, as there are still certain types of rock you shouldn't use in your tank. I seem to remember someone saying to pour vinegar on to a rock and if it fizzies then you shouldn't put it in your tank. There's also a pinned articles by Wolf in the tropical Chit Chat faqs all about rocks I think.

:good:

I've heard of SW (salt water) owners making LR (Live Rock) from cement. From my memory it raises the PH some that's it. Is this some special sort of cement and I just don't know what I'm talking about?
