Well yesterday i moved my favorite fish. my senegal bichir to my 55 gallon tank. Within 2 hours it was eaten with no trace of it left. It was my favorite fishy and now its gone :-( . and today when i was cleaning my 10 gallon my last cory died. i got lazy on teh cleanings so it was a little dirty. im just wondering if the nitrates released when i was starting the syphon could of killed it. they couldnt of been stirred up for more than 60 seconds

Oh dear :-( Eaten by what though ? Any idea ??

So sorry for your loss. How big were the other fish in that tank? I had to look it up to see what kind it was and about how big they are. The index also said they are predators, what the heck? It almost sounded like they would be the "eaters" and not the "eat-ees"....At any rate, I am so sorry for both your losses. I haven't done real well with the catfish types lately, I had a big plecostomus get dropsy and die within the last couple weeks. :byebye:

Sorry to hear this, poor thing R.I.P.

awww i used to have a bichir... gave him away a week ago... if i would of know this was gonna happen i would of just kept him and gave him to you!! (i got rid of my 75gallon and all its fish so im back to one betta)

i have no clue. i left for a hockey game. when i get back i see it sitting at teh bottom. then my RTBS goes over and latches on to its head. i rushed over then realized it was dead. it was like bitten in half. even my raphael came out to get some of teh poor guy. the thing was like 4-5" and i thought it was big enough. now i need to find a 6" one at least if i ever want another bichir
