Recently, I had bought two adult Tiger Barbs, and a baby. However, within a week, I had noticed what looked like an anchorworm attached to the smaller, I think female, barb.

As a precaution, I removed, isolated and treated 'her' with a sprinkling of salt, as recommended by some publications I've read. On 'her' removal, I had noticed that the bigger, I think male, barb 'looked' kinda heart-broken. :(

Within a couple days I could not find him anywhere in my tank, until that is I had found he'd wedged himself, face first, into two pieces of bogwood, and had somehow died. :-(

Soon after, unbeknownst to the female barb, she was well again, so decided to re-introduce her to the host tank. She clicked on immediately to the baby barb, but could not find the male barb. I had the feeling that she was also heart-broken and had worked out for herself that the male barb was no longer around. She too passed away, and on the same day of her re-introduction.

May they live happily ever after in that great Big River in the sky. :byebye:
