Wyld-Fyre
Fish Addict
Recently, I had bought two adult Tiger Barbs, and a baby. However, within a week, I had noticed what looked like an anchorworm attached to the smaller, I think female, barb.
As a precaution, I removed, isolated and treated 'her' with a sprinkling of salt, as recommended by some publications I've read. On 'her' removal, I had noticed that the bigger, I think male, barb 'looked' kinda heart-broken.
Within a couple days I could not find him anywhere in my tank, until that is I had found he'd wedged himself, face first, into two pieces of bogwood, and had somehow died.
Soon after, unbeknownst to the female barb, she was well again, so decided to re-introduce her to the host tank. She clicked on immediately to the baby barb, but could not find the male barb. I had the feeling that she was also heart-broken and had worked out for herself that the male barb was no longer around. She too passed away, and on the same day of her re-introduction.
May they live happily ever after in that great Big River in the sky.
Do some fishes mate for life?
