Today has been a very sad tank day for me. This morning I go to turn on my tank's lights and say 'hello' to my babies when horror of all horrors! I find my beloved platy George laying dead on to the bottom of the tank.
My poor Georgie! He was one of my original platies who survived my fishkeeping ignorance, the complete horrible cycling process and a really nasty aggressive guppy who terrorized my tank for a while.
I screamed for my hubby who removed him from the tank for me. At that moment I noticed my poor Angel, Goldie, had also had a mishap overnight. One of her long fins (sorry don't know the term) looks to be broken up near the top.
It's all loose and bends with the water currents. Nooooo!! She's still swimming and eating as normal so hopefully this won't have any lasting effects on her?
I checked the water perams... amonia -0, nitrite-0 and oddly enough nitrate - only a trace amount (not sure why this level has dropped in the past week?)
Anyway..just wanted to share my sad day. All this on top of me having the flu and feeling crappy all day long.
thanks for listening!
