does it munch on corals?

is it pretty much the same as every other pygmy angelfish or does it have any specil requirements?

saw a beautiful one in the lfs this weekend and we think that might complee our stocking nicely :D

Thats kind of like asking, "Are human beings vegetarians?". Sure some humans are, but most are not. Unfortunately the only way you'll know if that particular rusty angel likes corals is to try

just like all pygmy angels then really!

think i'll ask the lfs to get one and stick it in the coral tank for a day before we buy it, see if it does eat them!

Hehehe the LFS will love that!  "Can you please see if this fish eats your beautiful display tank/selling tank. If it does I won't buy it"

It's a good idea though if they agree to it :good:

But maybe it won't touch their corals as it will be upset at being moved for a week, then when you get it home and its settled, it will start to nip at yours? Moving the fish for a week at the LFS will cause it more stress surely?! So difficult isn't it!

I've read on a couple of places that Coral Beauty and Flame Angel are least likely to nip at corals, but as already stated, you never know.

were good mates with the people who run our lfs, even if they don't agree to it they'll be fine with us returning it if it does munch our corals.

I think most shops would let you return the fish but having good relations with your LFS can only be a good thing :good: I hope you're lucky and get one which doesn't nip your corals too much as they're beautiful fish
