I found a listing for some plants - 250 to be exact. The price is good, the seller has good feedback, just wondering if this is enough to have my 75g at least moderately planted?

25 Vallisneria Americana
125 saggitaria subulata
50 ludwigia repens
30 pennywort
20 hygro

This will be my first time with aquarium plants, so I just have no idea exactly how much this will fill my tank.  I know the plants will grow out and fill up the space a bit more with time, so I'm trying to figure out if these would be enough to eventually end up with a moderately planted tank. I have other tanks I can spread the plants around to as well (want to give my bettas a few plants).

Also, will all these plants do okay with about 90 watts and root tabs or liquid ferts? No CO2.

You would have sufficient here for dozens of tanks.

It's up to you, but I would get far fewer, depending upon the cost.  As you say, they will grow and spread.  The stem plants (Ludwigia, pennywort, hygro) presumably come in bunches...or is "50" etc. individual stems?  Vallisneria and Sagittaria will send out runners; 25 Vall isn't bad, but 125 Sag is a lot.

Most of us when we plant a new tank have a few plants and it does look sparse, but before you know it the tank is full and you will be tossing out handfuls.

Byron.

It is $30 for the lot - so I think I may get it, even though it will be too much.  I have one 75g, one 40g, two 2.5gallons, and one 20g to distribute it throughout. And to think I was worried about it not being enough! Given the price, I would assume it is counting individual stems, although it does not specify

I actually am waiting on this same order to arrive. I'm a little frustrated actually that I'm still waiting on them. Last weekend I paid for the order but still no shipment notice. Then I emailed them today and no word. If I don't hear from them tomorrow or Wednesday, I'm going to email again and see if I can get some service here. I was very excited about this shipment because it should be more than enough for my 35 gallon (and, I'm hoping, the twenty and ten gallon tanks, too).

Will you keep us posted on how the shipping works out for you?
And yes, the seller is talking about individual stems.

I haven't ordered yet, Attibones - and hearing your troubles makes me reluctant.  I did not buy yesterday, but I see that the same ad is listed again today. I very much want the plants, just was making sure it was the right decision before I ordered.  I have gone through the seller reviews and only a few were negative, but there was one claiming they never received the plants. Hearing your troubles makes me a bit worried...I think I will shoot them an email, perhaps if I mention that I have talked with you they will be more motivated to get it together..

Okay I talked with the seller and apparently he's going to send them out around the first due to his seizures. I actually talked to his wife who said they were waiting on his disability check and then they will send extra plants, so I'm not too worried about it.

Any update on your order, attibones? I just went ahead and ordered mine today. Glad he still had the package up for sale!

I would dive on a plant package like that!

It is far preferable to plant as many at the start than to have a sparce tank. This help combat algae and well it just looks much nicer.

Any growth that needs moving out can make you some money by onselling to others.....

Not yet. I'm expecting that my order will be shipped out on the 6 of October. I'm anxiously awaiting the order though because I really want to finish planting my gudgeon tank (and I want to replant the other two). I'm happy to wait for them though, as sending out plants is second to one's health. On the other hand, another order from someone else is still not here, and I expect that the moss is dead somewhere now.

The sellers seemed happy to explain to me, so if you want to ask them when to expect your package, I'm sure they'll tell you.

You'll be happy to know that my plants shipped Friday and will be here tomorrow. Have they sent yours out yet? I'll let you know how the plants look, but shipping seems to be pretty fast.

Mine just got sent out yesterday. Yes, please let me know how they look, assuming you got them by now?

Of course just my luck, I cut my thumb open yesterday so I will be unable to stick my hand in the tank to plant (got 15 stitches!) looks like my fiance will be learning to aquascape before I do! I will do my best with my left hand but of course it was my right thumb and I am right handed

I split open my thumb too! The plants are gorgeous and very healthy. Monday my thumb was well enough that I could do some work in the water, but I had to be very careful. I put almost all the plants in my 35 gal but I did throw some in the other tanks. When the plants grow more I'll divide them further. This was a great buy.

My stitches are in for 10 days so no chance of getting my hand in there in time to plant unfortunately, but it will get done! Glad to hear they are great plants, cant wait wait for them tomorrow

I think you will be very pleased. Let me know how yours look when you get them. :)
