Ok, its been a long time since I have spent any great deal of time on this forum - my own family has grown considerably in the last couple of years and toddlers and babies have ensured a busy busy life.
Over the last couple of years I have generall let my big tank run down (under the terms of never built a proper hood - its currently lift whole thing off, feed, put whole thing on, no backing paper, all plants eaten, fish that have died never replaced etc.) and it reached a sorry point of considering moving all fish to the 20 gallon instead.
But our home life is in a different place nowadays so I have decided to properly revive the old girl. Place an order for plants, bogwood and rock today and awa to spend the weekend catching fish to empty the tank, remove the sand (and give a good ole proper clean) MOVE THE TANK to a new site in the living room, get a new hood made for the tank, install moonlighting etc etc.
Its a good old proper restoration to full awe and glory.
It has been a little dissappointing to suddenly see the other da just how much i had let the tank run down. Has anyone else ever experienced this?
Dont get me wrong, not neglected but run down, almost like a subconcious effort to eventually wind it up but you know you would never do that (and your daughter wouldn't let you either!!)
