i have had my 9 rummynose for over a year, and they have always been healthy.
today i come home to find out one of them has no fins at all. otherwise, he seems healthy, but he cant swim with control, and he is breathing kind of hard.

I dont think it could have been fin rot, as i think i would have noticed.

i have an angel, SAE, 4 zebra and 4 yoyo loaches, 2 bristlenose in the tank.
They have all been in the tank together for a long time.

Any ideas what could happen? should i put him down? or can he survive?

oh yeah, and water parameters are fine.

Every fin on his body, he not in good shape and he's heavy breathing, plus he won't be able to balance his self while swimming, how many gallons is the tank.

actually after a closer look, all his fins are fine but his tail. I am really confused. Never seen something like this
its a 46g

Well a fish has nipped it or it's finrot, can you issolate the fish as don't wan't him getting picked on.

ya I already isolated him to a small container inside the same tank.
I am pretty sure the back tail can grow back, so hopefully I can save him.

What is bothering me is I want to find the cause of this...

i know the angel would nip on him when he was hurt and not swimming, but he has never bothered any fish unless they look vulnerable.

The only reason I possible have is that he got hurt somehow, stayed towards the bottom, then got picked on.

I had to put him donw that day though, I thought he could grow back his tail but by that night, he was breathing extremely hard and fast. I put him down with clove oil and vodka
