Hi everyone :)
I have 7 rummy nose tetras that I bought about 8 weeks ago, over the last couple of weeks I’ve noticed a green spot on all of their heads. I’m not sure if this is normal or they’re sick? My water parameters are stable and they’re all eating and seem happy. I’ve attached some photos any advice would be fab!

That is the coloration, for sure. Those also appear to be false rummy nose tetra. Someone will be able to confirm that theory though.

Hi, ahh I see, I wasn’t aware that they’re different types of rummy nose! The store didn’t provide any details like that, thanks :)

Not a problem, the "green." As for the pale red on the head, this should improve once the fish are more settled. Assuming water parameters and conditions are suited to the species, and there are not other stressors involved (unsuitable tankmates, etc).

A while back I posted about the three species being reclassifi3ed, here's that thread.

My rummy's were pretty silver when I first got them, with not a lot of red, but yes- once they get comfortable and settled in their colors will be absolutely GORGEOUS! :D
