Tank size:180 litres
pH: 6.8
tank temp:28

Fish Symptoms: Fish all flicking and rubbing against the sand

Volume and Frequency of water changes:20% 3 times a week

Tank inhabitants: 2 clown loach, 2 keyholes, 2 bolivian rams and 1 juvie geo

Will have to get stats tommorow from LFS as I have nothing left to test water with at the minute. This tank has the juwel 1000lph filter and a fluval u4.

Most fish seem to be rubbing their faces against the sand. They all look fine, just rubbing against the sand.

NO EXCESS MUCUS - NO UNUSUAL POO - NOT BLOATED OR THIN - NO RED INFLAMATION - NO SUNKEN BELLY - NO LISTLESS OR LETHARGICNESS

I have sterazin and protozin on hand - any good?

If they are rubbin their gills could be flukes maybe.im treating for velvet at mo,to rule that out get a mini torch and look at the fish in the darkness, look for rusty gold appearance.

You have the same thing my fish as rubbing but no signs of any other illness, been going on new for 4 weeks, but been told it might have sometime to do with my water sats. So have to wait to see what happens when water is clear or any other signs on the fish. Hope you have better luck than me finding whats wrong.

This is annoying now!

Can I do sterazin at full dose safely with clown loach?

Would it improve my chances of clearing it by dosing everyday rather than days 1, 3, 5 7 and 10 or whatever it suggests?

Is it better to do large water changes every day whilst medicating?

Esha 2000 good, treats wide range,i just got some today.after my velvet outbreak,if u do use sterazin dont use any more than it says for ur tank size however u dose it,ive used sterazin with clown loach and had no problems, best to follow the med info,

Water stats - Tested at lfs

amonnia - 0
nitrites - 0
nitrates - 5

4 days into dosing, done a 50% water change and only fish seen flicking today is the new geo.

Another dosing tomorrow to do, lets keep fingers crossed eh!
