Long time no speak. Can anyone help me out.

My Redtailed Black shark, seems to have scales missing, or different colour scales in a few very small patches on each of its sides. I havent thought much about it cos, sometimes you see em sometimes you dont ?

he swam past me today and its under belly seems to have the same problem but there seems more there.

is he a she, cos i heard they have a grey belly, problem is it looks too patchy.

Any ideas, is it a condition or is he getting it through the scirmishes he has with my Black Calvus and Red Zebra Cichlid?

What colour are he patches are they abit fluffy in appearance, any flicking and rubbing on objects, or heavy breathing.

No, theres none of that, they really just look either grey or missing.

Apart from that he is tip top condition and happy as you like !!

If the scales are going grey can mean a couple of things a bacteria infection or parasite, is it also grey around the scale edging.

Need some more info on tank size in gallons and water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, how many fish and which type, you can also lose scales with this..
