Hello

My RTB shark has not been moving very well for a few days just been sitting in the one place it had been quite active till then. Its waste was very stringy and white also. I just saw it trying to swim and it looks like its over to the side and struggling.Im totally gutted as Ive only had it about 4 weks. The tank has been running for about 10 weeks. All stats are ok apart from PH which seems to be ranging from 6.6 to 7.0.

I lost two small Green TBs over a two week period they were very small tried Isolating them but they both never made it. I treated them with Pimafix incase it was Bacterial.

Its it possible swimbladder prob with RTB and should I Isolate it.

Thanks.

the stringy white waste could indicate either a bacterial problem or an internal parasite problem. When you look at its anus, are there any thin red strings hanging out?

The rolling does sound like a swim bladder problem, which is probably bacterial. You should try to treat with a broad spectrum antibioitic, such as tetracycline or kanamyacin. Increasing the temperature also will hlep increase the effectiveness of the antibiotics.

Good luck, although unfortunately, it isn't sounding too good.

Hi..unless you have an unreliable test kit, your pH shouldn't be 'ranging' over a 0.4 pH change. That is a huge shift if it truly is occurring on a weekly basis. You should either check into the test kit you are using (which one?) or have a sample taken to the lfs to see..also, check the tap, kH, etc.

Otherwise, I agree with ttt. SH

My kit is new and has been reliable two weeks ago I noticed the PH had droped to 6.6 then last week it was 7.0 this week back to 6.6. I have checked my Biorb with the kit and the PH has been the same in 3 weeks there. Should I move the RTB to the Biorb its the only other tank i have also if i dont and i increase the temp in my main tank does this effect the other fish. Both tbs were in the biorb but did not make it I did put primafix in the biorb will this also be a pro
blem.

Thanks again.
