Fishaholic
Next week, I plan on returning the small shoal of Neons I have in my 40 gallon planted. The remainder of the tank inhabitants are as follows. Sorry that this is somewhat a repeat post from a month ago, but my stocking has changed a little (an unexpected death or two, moved the Scarlet Badis to my other tank, etc). The theme I'm building my tank on is an active community of small fish and inverts.
Fish:
Phoenix Rasbora (Boraras Merah) - 12
Killifish (Aphyosemion striatum) - 2 (just got these two, and they've taken to the tank pretty well, and don't seem to be harassing anyone).
Endlers - 4 male, 2 female, uncountable number of immature ones of indeterminate gender on their way up
Ottocinclus - 3
Albino Bronze Cory - 4
Kuhli Loach - 1 (I'd return him if I could find him)
Critters:
Amano Shrimp - 6
Cajun Dwarf Crays - 3
Ghost Shrimp - 2
Apple Snail (Pomacea bridgesii) - 1
Nerites - 3
Various random pest snails.
By my calculations, I have room for a new small shoal or two in there. There have been a few options I've been interested in, but haven't been able to find locally, including:
Ember Tetra
Pygmy/Sparkling Gourami
Dwarf/Chain Loach
Pygmy Cory (if I got these I'd exchange my existing albinos)
Heterandria formosa
Pearl Shrimp
I'm open to suggestions though. Ideally I'd like to keep to fish species that are less than around 1.5-2 inches/4-5 cm for scale reasons, though it's more just a must that they're peaceful enough not to eat male Endlers or Boraras (cutting down on the number of baby Endlers would be much appreciated though).
