hey not sure bout this my friend got 2 of these and all i can find bout them is that they like temp of 70-82F there peaceable and get 2-4 inches is this correct and is ther anything else he should know bout them b/c im helping him but he went out and got these without telling me and a guy at the petstore told him that he sould put these in his 10 gallon tank then feed them everyother day and not change the water for a month i think and this will make his ammonia safe for other fish is this right

They should be in a bigger tank; they easily get to 4 inches (the ones in my neighbour's tank seem closer to 5) and are very active, so need lots of swimming space. They may be hardy enough to cycle the tank, but I can't see them being happy in it in the long run.
Anyway, not changing the water for a month means the fish have to swim in toxins; however hardy, this is not good for them. Your friend should keep a close eye on water stats and do a partial water change whenever ammonia or nitrites go over 0.5 ppm.
