Alright, I'm doing some aquascaping involving rocks and in total, out of the water the rocks weigh about 25 pounds should I be concerned about the bottom of my 60 gal acrylic giving out, I mean with the 60 lbs. of sand, laterite and 400 some-odd pounds of water weight? Sorry if I'm not asking this in the right forum, I figured planted would be closest... thanks for the help in advance.

the only thing to be concered about is when placing the rocks;
be as careful as you can.
also ensure the rocks can not fall, if need be silicon them together.
there is a pinned article in the FAQ about the types of rocks you can and can not use in aquariums.

Just think about salt water tanks, how much coral they have, tanks are built strong, if they werent we would always be buying new ones. Use your judgement tho. 25 lbs.. really isnt that much if you have 400 lbs of water. The weigh is pretty much expanded now on the bottom of the tank.

Anyone can tell u yes.. it's safe.. or not it isnt.. but unless you put them in you really wont know. But i'm going to say it "should" be fine. You probably wont run into problems.

I put lots of rocks in mine and it's all good bro

^ that i think he's talking about chemicals to rocks, some rocks can make your PH go WAYYYY up

just be careful, rocks in the river are usually saffe.

I'd have to dissagree there
just because a rock is in a river dosn't make it safe for a closed system like an aquarium.
anything the rock is leeching into the river will be washed downstream, that can't happen in an aquarium.
not to mention all the microorganisums, pollutants etc that may of may not be on the rock.

to save you looking
