im a plant gal! they are so pretty. I love a well planted tank. But... there is a good place in every planted tank for a well placed rock and driftwood.

Rock woman... I love plants but can't realy grow them well so I'm limmited to duckweed and whatever else will grow :p Sometimes I put wood in. I've got to say though - I am a great fan of plain old ceramic pots... They serve their purpose, look ok, don't distract from the fish and are, above all, CHEAP! :p

ditto.

I have rocks, plants and wood, but I must say my favourites are the plants becuase they look nice, eat up nitates and iron etc...
I also llike wood because it's good for plecs and makes good natural looking hidey caves. If I kept fish that naturally lived in rocks though (like african cichlids) I'd stick to rocks.

I have plant, wood and rocks in my tank, i think its makes it look more natural!

I love rocks! Especially river rock like rocks from the beach, lol. Though slate is nice too, but the person that made this thread has an awsome tank, and I love thoser rocks too!

S'all about variety. Wood, rocks, plants, ornaments... whatever turns my crank at the time.

I believe in using whatever material best suits the fish you are keeping and so my tanks use a variety of materials depending on what is stocked in them.

For example if you have mainly African rift valley species then use rocks, if you have mainly South American species then use wood, if you have mainly Asian species then use plants. Fish always look and act better when kept with the things which nature intended to be along side them.
