Hi all
I just got back from my LFS with...........

3x Lionheads-dwarf cichlid from africa (2GIRLS 1BOY)
1X Female flag

can you give me some breeding info on both of these fish :D

Hey Fish God

That's one heck of a lot of cichlids for a 3 foot tank, I'm not even sure how you have enough real estate for all of them!

Anyway, they are monogomous cichlids, so with luck a pair will form. Ideal conditions are a well decorated tank with lots of water flow, and space to establish a territory.

Nicely put freddy .

Fish God , try doing a google search on the lion heads , breeding , feeding , tank size requirements .

again the flags are new world , post there[ new world ] maybe you'll get more specialized answers , is it lateacara curviceps or dorsiger [ search google ].

How's your flag cichlid doing ? not the new one , the one that was acting ill .

wow

dude no offense but you HAVE to upgrade if yopu have that many pairs of cichlids who have a big chance of breeding plus all those other fish,

sorry cant help

Thanks EVERYBODY
Dwarf Dude your right but i can't upgrade and i still haven't hade any fighting yet :)
My Male has his hump already and its sssssoooooo cute

With so many cichlids in the tank, fighting may be avoided altogether, however with no space to establish territories, you'll miss out on the joy of the monogomous cichlid relationship. If you truly want the most out of them, I'd recommend choosing two dwarf species, this way they can each have half the tank.

I agree but the thing is they actullay have territorys that they defend like pots, slate
and the big peace of driftwood

EDIT-I'd say they have about 3/4 of a foot each :D

Also My Sick Flag is geting better yaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh shes swiming upright and had 12 black worms last night but there is 1 problem i now have 3 flags-2 girls-1 boy and its the same with the lion heads  well the loners get picked on?

In a crowded tank like that the extra females may be able to lose themselves in the crowd and avoid getting picked on, but certainly keep a close eye on them - once they're trapped in a corner and beaten, it's often difficult for them to recover. With all those fish in the tank anyway, why not take them back just in case?

How are the neons doing in your tank? Do they not get eaten or are they too fast?

the Neon's are really good even my black neons do well...
sometimes there are first to the food :D
also my kribs are paired (i think) and are defending there pot and dwirftwood well kinda like a tag team......
Also my Flag is better and has made a nice home in some (NEW) lions tail fern :D
