Fred and the Fredettes
Okay, after feeding, first time i have tried River Shrimp, there are about 30 dead River Shrimp scattered around. About half the shrimp have been eaten.
The tank is 300 litres and runs with x1 very mature Eheim 2028 and a very mature smaller external (Aqua Plus 1) and a Fluval 4+ internal (which is just to increase the flow, it doesnt contain media)
Question:
I am sure the fish will finish off the rest of the shrimp in the next 12 hrs or so, but if they dont, and it takes say 24 hrs until i remove any bodies, do you think it will impact and stress the filters regarding ammonia/nitrite? Or safer to take the remains out now
I have test kits galore, so wouldnt mind monitoring and learning myself anyway, but if peeps think its gonna kick off a "spike" for sure i will remove them
The fish are Bichirs, Reed Fish, Barbs and a 2" Siamese Tiger Fish (who won the title as Champion Shrimp Eater lol)
EDIT: River Shrimp are about 1 to 1.5" in length
