i dont see why it wouldnt if you well rinse it.

but i brought back a couple bags of sand from the lake i live by and it was very beautiful and white until i rinsed it. it wouldnt rinse and was constantly murky so i threw it out

How about sand purchased for a kids sandbox? Would that be ok?

I have paving sand in mine. It's 'dirt cheap' and looks natural.

will having sand in there substatially increase the weight from standard gravel.

kk how deep should the substrate be for an average plant?

and should I add any additives to the substrate to make it more nutrient infused?
