Ripped tails n fins

1 of my rams has ripped fins now, just over nite, i have had em since nov. what causes that? my american flag fish have that problem aswell. is it the fish i have? a disease? what is it?

sounds like they got bit to me. You might have an agressor that is nipping at ur other fishes fins. I used Melafix on my bala shark that had half is back fin ripped off and it has now completly grown back(took about a week).

I'm guessing 1 or both of the green Sev's have been nibbling! Keep a close eye on the tank and see if you can spot the aggressor. Could be finrot but doesn't sound like it. Melafix will almost certainly help in either case.

Maybe its caused by other fishes nipping? Use melafix, its a quick cure to all this.

yup, as the others said: finrot or another fish bullying the afflicted one.
observe the tank closely and figure out if there is a bully fish.
finrot can usually be treated easily. I'm treating for it right now, actually.
