my big cockatoo male passed on this weekend. 
i'm not sure if it was age or what, but he had been healthy--just a little over a week ago he sired a new batch of babies. he has always been the alpha-male in the tank (there is one other male), so we'll see if the younger male steps up and starts breeding too. here are a couple pics of the departed "Papa"
