Rip Rainbow

My betta had constipation or tumor and has been in seperate tank, he is now dead. Second one lost in a week not from me from unknown diseases. Here is his picture. Has had him for almost a year, oldest betta.

I can't believe he is gone and the one I bought just before christmas is dead. I am a very responsible fish keeper. I have goldfish, first 2 started in a 3 gallon which was not cycled and they are still with me after 21/2 yrs. I have tropical fish, and puffer fish which is still with me, I bought her early last summer. Why are my bettas dying. I have and expensive betta coming from Thialand, the transhipper just recieved him today and I will have him on Wednesday. I don't want him dying. I want to get one more to replace Rainbow for the 10 gllon divided. But now I am afraid that I will have them dying too. I take care of them, the tank is cycled, filter is covered with pop bottle cut in half so not so turbulent for Flame. I do everything for my fish but the bettas are not surviving. I hope no other fish die, I hate it.

Make sure you thoroughly clean and dry out that tank before putting anymore fish in it. There might be some bacteria or other pathogen lurking in there.

I'm sure you're a very responsible fish keeper. I am too, and I just had 3 fish all die within a week and a half. My new female betta that I got the day after xmas died, and my 2 gold veil angel fish which i've had since july died today. No clue what happened to them.

Sorry about your betta, I am sure it was just an unexplained death. I had a figure of 8 puffer and I loved him to bits, had him in a tank by himself, cultivated snails for him. I fed him one morning and he was fine I came home for lunch and he was dead. I accused my hubby of getting cleaner in tank but it was covered anyway. I havent had another ....I loved his little face.
