my frist betta fish has passed away. i belive dropsy was his killer.

i got him a few weeks after living in my dorm room alone, i wanted a little compainion to keep me company. he defiently did, he would always greet me when i came home from classes and build me nice nests. i learned alot from him, starting off with those stupid betta tanks to moving him to his finaly home a five gallon tank with a heater and filter.
i hope i can learn from my mistakes and make life better for his little transgender brother/sister Rayne. for now its me and his stupid brother.

thanks netty, pheniox. i will most defiantly miss my little study buddy. at least i know he is no longer in pain. doesn't make it any easier. :-(

I know how you feel. I was the same when I lost Strudel......you get so used to them being there and coming to the glass to say hello :(

Sorry for your loss but hopefully Rayne will prove to be be more than his 'stupid little brother'...I have yet to meet a betta ,that given the chance, I haven't fallen in love with!

i am glad i have rayne, it makes this a little easier. he is a sweet fish with a very ditzy personality. he is no livingston.
livingston was smart. he knew me he would say hello to me when ever i came home from class and get mad when i left him.
right before he died he swam up to the glass where i was for a few minutes, then disappered to die in the back. i am convinced now he was saying goodbye.

thank you all for your sympathy, it makes it a little easier to know there are others who feel bad when we loose our bettas. :/
