Well...i was suppose to ask questions about my sick Goby, but he sadly passed away quietly one night after waiting all day for me to come home before he said goodbye. He was the cutest most charismatic fish I've ever owned. Anyway before the tears start spilling, I just wanted to know what the heck he had, so I'll try to explain and maybe someone would know....

A few months ago, I noticed that he developed a reddish dot inside him, close by the poop-hole along the spinal bone and I was worried. I never seen him eat too much after that, but every so often I'd see him eat a little bit. He was fine, swimmin around and floating thru the bubbles like usual. One day I noticed that he started to hide a lot in one of my logs....then he came out one day and AHH!!! he looked completely sunken in!!!! He was soooooooo skinny, his fins and tail looked pinched together and eaten away, he was breathing heavily and then I seen that he would be lyin on his side because he couldn't sit straight. Whenever he's start falling over, he would correct himself the best he could. I tried some medicine, he seemed to be getting a bit better, a little stronger.......then when I came home that fateful day, he was just lyin there by the glass where I could see him, like he was waiting for me to come home...he was breathing slowly....and then I just put my face next to his and watched him take his last breath as he calmly stared back at me. I think my panda corys knew something was wrong with my goby because they would stay by him or guard his log from the other fishes. The panda's would poke at the other fish whenever they'd get close to the log my goby was in, it was cute hehe.

Someone said it must've been an internal infection, another said he was dehydrated(?) anyone else got a clue what it might've been??

i've got my money on "parasite". whatever it was, you need to carefully watch your other fish for symptoms. keep an especially close eye on those panda corys; they're notoriously fragile.

 Parasite ahhh!! I treated the tank with melafix for 7 days while the goby was sick, then treated for the remainder of the week after he passed. The panda's look like they're cool, nothin wrong with'em but I will still keep an eye on them.
