We just got back home from our 2 week Eurotrip.
I had my brother come by and take care of my fish.
I left written instructions on all of my tanks, but unfortunatly, something went wrong and Bluebell, along with a few other fish have died.

When we finally got home, I went to the tank and saw a glob of something stuck to one of the filter intakes. I fished it out with a net, and saw little fishbones sticking out of it :( I frantically looked around the tank and noticed, no betta and just knew the globby slimey stuff in the net was the remains of her. :(
She was a sweet girl. She loved cories and loved hanging out with them on the bottom of the tank. She also loved swimming with the ram.

I have absolutely no idea what could've gone wrong. Brother said that he did add some water about a week after we left, but he followed the instructions I gave. But considering that a few of the other fish seem to be sick, with 1 even dying yesterday, I think he might've done something wrong when adding the water. What.. no idea, but it's the only conclusion I can think of that would explain why some of the other fish are sick/dead.
He didn't even notice that the betta had died.
I'm not mad at him though, just curious to know what went wrong. I'll never know I guess.

Anyways..... RIP my piggy Bluebell. Your death will always be a mystery.

Will we get another betta for the maintank? Not likely. Just too much worry having to limit the type of fish we can get for that tank.. and of course never know the personality the betta will have. Could be a great sociable betta like my Bluebell, or could be a mean one. *sigh*

sorry for your fish...mine dont get any attention when we go away. I dont trust anyone else to feed them!

Thanks everyone for the support.
I wish I had gotten more pictures of her fat lil self.
Here are a few of her though....

She'd always come to the front whenever I approached the tank always begging for food heh

Not the happiest time, she was in pretty bad shape here since she was in an uncycled tank... shame on me.

This is her laying with the now deceased green cories in the 5gal hospital tank. They were there waiting for their big tank to finish cycling. She really did love those cories. I'd always catch her swimming and laying with them.

When I first got her. She was so tiny and cute.

I think the blue ram misses her. Before, the ram and betta would swim around together all the time all around the tank, but now the ram just hides. I feel so bad for it :( I think I'm gonna convince fiance to maybe get a female ram to keep him company. Or maybe another female betta. We'll see though.

She was just a mutt I think.
At first I thought she was a CT since I could see the rays, but they were very small. She never got the flowing tail that VTs get, it stayed more rounded like a delta. There is a roundtail betta variety. Wouldn't doubt that's what type she mainly was. *shrugs*
