Would be greatful of any help :hyper:

The best thing to do is to leave it floating, and eventually it should grow into a nice big clump. Then, it should be enough for making your carpet.

Hi,

Sure, Riccia is a great carpet plant and can be pretty easy to grow :) As you mentioned it needs to be tied to an object as it does not root itself and besides being placed on rocks etc means you can re-scape how you feel without the hassle of ripping anything up. Personally i use riccia tied to small, thin pieces of slate tied down with a hairnet, make sure this is tied tight as i have heard some cases of Plecs getting caught. If it grows quick then this is not really an issue but make sure it`s tight. It`s important to apply a thin layer of Riccia as it will grow rapidly and maintenance is essential. If you are injecting CO2 and have high light this stuff will grow soooo quick but it`s worth it. As with any floating plants they will naturally try to float so regular pruning is required, i do mine every 2 weeks otherwise it will just cover the surface of the tank and block out the light.

Hope that helps a bit, if you are not sure just ask :)

My first official post, woohoo :)

Cheers,
