I've had riccia in my tank for a few months. I used the plastic mesh weighted with rock and covered with hairnet method and all was going fine. It's about 1.5 inches thick and growing like crazy but the bottom seems to be releasing from the mesh and i fear that i will return from work one day to find it scattered through my tank. Why would it release from the mesh? I don't want to recover it with hair net and make it look terrible.....what to do?

On another note....my co2 diffuser won't stop collecting that damn white fluff. Every day or so it's blocked and releasing bubbles wildley into the tank. I want to go pressurized but it's expensive and i've heard to many stories of it going nuts and killing everything in the tank.

Thoughts? Comments? HELP?!

because you need to trimm the riccia the bottom isnt getting enough lights, and is dying so it cant hold

Riccia is a floating plant, and its against its nature to be submersed. You will find it needs constant attention to keep it in place. Trimming can help. Its the natural buoyancy that is pulling it free.

So true hence I've just reset mine again

Riccia Fluitans when it bushes up starts to lift if you let it get too bushy so a quick haircut sorts matters out here.

Unfortunately Dwarf Riccia needs totally resetting anyway as the bottom dies off.
