Reversing Swordtai!

Hi all,

First of all i was not drnking, or doing anything I should not have been when I witnessed this!!!

last night I watched my male Swordtail reverse at high speed, chasing the female all over the shop with his Sword??

is this normal? or is he a bit confused?

Dontn worry mine does it too...think its a show off thing to get her attention...makes me giggle lots tho...

im sure its normal swordie behaviour when hes trying to entice/attract the female!!! ours does it too with a funny sort of zig zaggy motion.......sadly for him our girl usually ignores him or tells him to b***r off by giving him a nip!
we had 50+ swordie fry in a separate tank a while ago & it was fascinating to watch the males as they developed their swords, also start to display the same behaviour - much to the horror of the baby girls i might add!!!!! they started doing this when they got to about 3/4 inch big & you could just see their little swords developing very cute but oh dear they start off young!!!
