I'm interested to know what RO additives people (in the UK) use to add trace minerals back to the water prior to going into the tank?

I've got a new 3 stage unit arriving this week and I'm looking for an additive that will increase pH to 6 - 6.5, add in the necessary minerals and not contain any free phosphates!

What would you recommend and is available in the UK?

I use KENT R/O right, 1/2 to 1 teaspoon in 40 litres will give you very soft to soft water but to change the pH from neutral you will need to use peat filtration or bogwood in the tank or you could use a chemical additive (no need IMO) like KENT pH control minus.

Good point, I forgot that areated RO water would be pH neutral. I already have bodwood in the tank so that should do the trick.

I can't ever seem to recall my LFSs selling any form of RO addititve, maybe I'll have to buy some of that Kent stuff from the web....

Thanks. :)

Have you ever tried just aerating new RO water for a few hours to increase the pH from 6 to 7? Just curious...
