Revamping The Tank

My friend is looking to get into the hobby so I gave him my spare 29g bare tank. I told him if he wanted my fish I'd give them to him. With that being said, I want to completely tear down and build up my tank. I'm thinking of doing small cichlids. Not too many though and no convics... those things are the rabbits of the tropical fish world hah. What would do good in a 29g Tall tank and be pleasing to the eye?

Angelfish, Kribs, dwarf cockatoo cichlids, rams, to name a few. Other than that you could try African shell dweling cichlids.
