Hi! I finally joined up after lurking for a while. Used to keep a couple of tanks a few years back but had to get rid before moving. This is the biggest regret of my life! I so wish I hadn't. So, I'm getting back into fish keeping. I don't have a tank yet, because I'm doing a lot of research into what I want to do. I'd like a totally planted tank, and once that's settled then introduce fish. I'm reading all I can but I'm sure I'll be posting with specific questions. I don't want to start listing them here but there's going to be a few!
I got started when I was given a couple of goldfish in a 5 liter tank (I think, it was really tiny), with the words "take them or I'll flush them". I upgraded them to a much larger tank, but one died a year or so later. The remaining fish (now affectionately called The Admiral) has been moved to his very own pond where he takes great delight in trying to lure the neighbours cats in for a swim, which I know he's managed on more than one occasion and is now about 4 years old. My other tank was an Aqua One with a betta, 2 african clawed frogs and some guppies.
I'm now looking for a "project tank" where I can slowly grow the environment I want, make sure it's right and then think about adding fish.
