Hi

I've just returned to keeping fish after a dry spell of 15yrs or so, started as a kid with guppies and mollies etc etc back when TV sets had 3 channels only. progressed to Chiclids over the years, then went up to some more aggressive fish, wolf chiclids, red tail catfish and Hoplias and florida gar's, red snake heads, of course in different tanks!.

I've now decided i want to go more for the little fish, tetras, roseys, gouramias etc etc, but now make the plants the main feature, with the fish as more a hangbang to the shoes as such.

tank is 48x15x18inch 45/48 gals, have tetra external 700, undergravel filter with a 802 powerhead on.

Ive just brought, some tropica substrate to put under the gravel and a hydro basic co2 system. i have 2 twin light tubes, not sure make and output as they dont seem to say, but they are blinding bright (i normally only have 1 on) no reflectors on them.

I wanted some floating plants and a vast forest of plants on one side, and rest of the tank bare except some drift wood and some plants that nearly carpet the entire bottom of the tank.

Now if anyone can point me in the right direction, let me know if theres enough filterage etc (undergravel filter bad idea etc?)

Many thanks for anyone who takes the time to reply and help.

Regards

Ped
