hello to all
After a long hiatus, returning to the care of tropical fish is a “newâ€￾ exercise of patience and understanding.
A 20gl tank was selected instead of a larger for placement convenience..
The decision was to not have a community aquarium but to provide for a school of one specie the Pontius tetrazona , the common Tiger Barb , due to their colour and activity observed at the local LFS.

After planting, letting it “settle downâ€￾ and begin the cycling, 5 tiger barbs where introduced and a bit of time later, added 4 more for a school of 9. After many weeks, the nine residences are doing the usual Tiger barb routine of living in what appears to be an established environment for them. Lively dashing from place to place, pausing for what ever reason, going to all levels of the tank, chasing one another and dashing to the feeding area when someone approaches the tank.

A number of comments read in this and other forums have led me to question the 1 inch to the gallon “theoryâ€￾ of populating an aquarium and base life of these fish on time and good care.
I know their growth in time may out do the volume of the environment.
Help --- thoughts on what is the rate of growth for this specie ? tnx
