Hi i'm not new to the hobby, but i'm new to restoring tanks, the problem i have with this tank is that the trims are destroyed top and bottom, the front pane of glass is concave shape (biggest issue) so after sealing it back up (yep it leaks) how am i supposed to make new trims, every single youtube video on custom trims is for rectangle tanks. I have not resealed it yet as, it maybe a whole waste of a weeks work, do i need to throw it away?, i really want to keep it as its a nice tank and would look great fixed. If anyone has some ideas or youtube links I'd be grateful, i'm good with my hands so DIY ideas welcome as well. Thanks in advance

Cut the glass panel off and use a single sided razor blade to remove all the old silicon. Then wash the glass with warm soapy water and rinse well. Dry, then use some glass silicon to glue the tank back together.

Straight after you silicon the glass together use some tape to tape the outsides together. Then wet your finger and run it along the inside bead of silicon to smooth it off. Allow it to dry then use the single sided razor blade to clean up excess silicon.

i know already how to seal the tank, its the trims i'm asking about, sorry if i didn't make that clear

the top and bottom parts that are siliconed to the tank, they can be wood or plastic, holds the lid. the tank is bowfront i've just learnt

The plastic trim on the outside of the tank is purely for decoration and won't be used to stop the tank leaking. If you know where the water is leaking from, mark the area with a permanent marker and shove some more silicon in it.

Make sure you use a glass silicon and let it dry for at least 3 days in warm weather, and a week in cool weather.

You can remove the plastic bits off the bottom of the tank and put a piece of 10mm thick polystyrene foam under the tank.
