Hi all after rehoming a few of my fish I'm wondering what to get as new stock in my juwel 240 at mo I'm left with

1 male fighter
6 ottos
6 neons
6 albino corys

Just general ideas will be helpful and stock numbers I should get thanks in advance

Depends what your looking for

I think the fighter limits your options severely - will definitely make it harder to find any larger centrepiece fish which won't pick on it.

One of my favourite small shoaling fish are Harlequin Rasboras - lovely little fish and tend to stick together. You will need at least 6 of these but a group of around 10 would wok perfectly and they are very peaceful

I could move the fighter have a 5g spare at mo

Nahh the fighter doesnt limit much, you dont need big centerpiece fish!

I would go for:

-Another 6 albino corydoras OR 6 bronze corydoras
-Another 6-10 Neon Tetras
-4 Honey Gouramis (2 pairs, either red or yellow or a pair of each, they make a nice centerpiece!)
-10 Harlequins/copper harlequins/rummynose tetra

Shrimps... get a nice colony of an interesting shrimp going :) Not cherry shrimp.... everyone has cherries.... or get a colour variation like the blacks, yellows or oranges :)

And snails, pink ramshorn snails are great!! Eat the algae, dont breed prolifically and are easy to find homes for...

How big is the tank?

It's a 4ft

I'm liking the sounds of this set up ill have a look into it

Is that 65 Gallons?

Maybe consider the extra neons being "black" neons. (I just did a quick bit of research and the black "neon" is actually a completely different genus! I never knew that! But, "green" neons will shoal with neons, so maybe some "greens".)

I'll also throw bloodfin tetras into the mix. A group of 8-10 would look very nice.

Green neons always seem to have a completely different personality to the normal neons, i dont reckon they would shoal together well....

Bloodfin Tetras are an awesome idea, i love the Rathbuns Bloodfins!! When they colour up, they are gorgeous!

Well, my research on the green neons wasn't very extensive, so I should have written "may"...

I've got my first bloodfins coming in about a week... I've never actually kept them before, but I am MAJORLY excited. We're getting 24 for a 6 foot tank. ;)

Ok here's the stocking il have after I eventually get all the fish

1 male fighter
4 honey gourami
10 neon tetra
10 harlequins
6 albino cory (found eggs this morning)
6 ottos
8 Pygmy cory (love these guys)

This sound ok?

No idea on numbers but combinations all sound great except always thought betta + gourami were a big no-no... Good luck, needing advice myself on my 240L ;-)

I may be lucky with my bettas only ever had one nasty one

The only gouramis that might be a real pain are thenarky little dwarf gouramis or sometimes you get the odd overly boisterous gold or blue gourami but imo that generally down to the tank just not being suitable for them anyway.

Honey gouramis are harmless little things though :)
