There is a possibility I have overstocked my 120l tank (posted as a seperate post). If so I'm thinking of restarting it. I became quite interested in Discus recently and was wondering how many I could keep in a 120l tank. My tank is rectangular bow shaped tank with good height. And what are suitable tank mates for discus? I quite like a specific eel which I can't remember what they're called but it seemed friendly and a fairly docile creature. I also like bettas (but obviously 1), tetras and black ghost knife fish.

Thanks! :)

What's the footprint of the tank? Dimensions matter. Quite a bit too. A BGK grows far too big for a 120 I'm sorry to say. Discus grow huge and you really need to take into account their full adult size when stocking a tank. 6 is suggested as the minimum number. So I think the tank would be too small for them.

You say two cichlids and one plec in your signature. What species are they?

Ah so discus are out of the question. My signature needs an update. I have a way over stocked tank of cichlids. Just in case, the measurements are 80 x 43 x 55cm. But yes, if I can't keep a species properly, then I won't keep them at all. Not fair and all. Thank you for your info. :)
